PROF. DR. THOMAS WUNDER

Prof. Dr. Thomas Wunder is an internationally renowned expert of linking strategy and sustainability as well as managing the corresponding transformation processes and has published relevant books and papers on this topic.
For over 20 years, he advises senior executives on the development and management of strategy. He belongs to the pioneers in the strategy execution field with project assignments in more than 15 countries.
Among his clients are executive leadership teams of renowned multinational corporations as well as medium-sized companies from a wide variety of industries. As a result of his practical work, he knows that strategic transformation is no mechanical standard process but must always be shaped and executed company-specifically. The best management tools and approaches fail if there is no “fit” with the specific company and its strategic leadership culture and structure. He considers the systematic alignment of strategic priorities in different organizational units as particularly important in the strategy process as transformations are made by human beings who have their individual values, motivations, and mindsets.
Thomas Wunder spent more than a decade of his career as a strategy consultant and business leader with Horváth & Partners in both the EU and USA where he was in charge of operations for 6 years. He was associated with the Balanced Scorecard Collaborative (BSCol) in Boston and its thought leaders, Harvard Business School professor Robert S. Kaplan and David P. Norton. Later he helped to build a large-scale global alliance of local consulting firms with over 5000 experts in more than 65 offices in 25 countries today.
Since 2010, he has been full professor of Strategic Management at the Neu-Ulm University of Applied Sciences where he led the Master of Advanced Management program for many years. He has been teaching strategy & sustainability at the EDHEC Business School (France), the Shidler College of Business at the University of Hawaii (USA), the EBS University for Business and Law (Germany) and the Basel University (Switzerland).

Thomas Wunder holds a PhD from the EBS University for Business and Law at the Chair for Strategic Management. Today he seeks to provide current and future business leaders with actionable and impactful science-based knowledge for linking strategy and sustainability and making strategic sustainability transformation happen.

He lives with his wife and two children in the Alpine foothills of Southern Germany, where he finds pleasure in dealing with meadow orchards and old walnut trees.
